them to be outlawed… Jack Karsarjian president of X-Bats, the leader
in maple bat production joins us for a little chat… Cabbie’s “Fare of
the Week” and much much more!

So, join us Sunday (8/10) at 12:00 PM EST as we welcome Jack Karsarjian as our guest on BASEBALL TALK w/ Carl the Cabbie & Dugout Joe.

Baseball Talk – Sunday April 13 – 12:00pm to 2:00pm

baseball talk logo.jpgThe 2008 Baseball season is still in its infancy, but the early storylines are as compelling as ever.  Do the Mets have reason to be concerned with their slow start?  Will the Yankee offense come alive even without Derek Jeter?  Why do so many division standings appear to be upside down?  We’ll cover all of this plus our first Series of the Week segment in which we’ll preview the upcoming week’s most intriguing series.  And of course, what is a baseball show without a look into the latest Fantasy studs, duds and sleepers.

turk_mcbride.jpgAnd while our primary focus always lies with the boys of summer, stories from around the entire sports world remain on our radar screens as well.  It is with that in mind that we are proud to bring on this week’s show defensive linmen Tank Tyler and Turk McBride of the Kansas City Chiefs.  Tank and Turk were featured prominently in the HBO hit series Hard Knocks and will be with us to break down the upcoming NFL Draft.demarcus_tyler edit.jpg

So plan your Sunday with us in mind – 12:00pm to 1:00pm Baseball Talk followed by a Bonus 1:00pm to 2:00pm NFL Draft Special with Tank Tyler and Turk McBride.  And of course we love getting your opinion as well so give us a call at 646-478-4570 and have your voice heard.

The Father of Baseball

Andrew J. Schiff, author of "The Father of Baseball: A Biography of Henry Chadwick" will be our guest Sunday at 12:20 p.m. on Baseball Talk with Carl "The Cabbie" & Dugout Joe.Henrychadwick_1

An excerpt from "The Father of Baseball: A Biography of Henry Chadwick,"

"Henry Chadwick is the most important figure in nineteenth century baseball history. Though he never really played the game, except for a scrub match in 1848, Chadwick did more to make the game popular and scientific, and relavant than any other individual in that era. Born on October 5, 1824, in Exeter, England, Chadwick migrated with his father James Chadwick, a journalist and enlightenment figure, his mother Theresa, and his younger sister Rosa, to New York, in September of 1837."

Tampa Bay Rays’ GM Andrew Friedman On “Baseball Talk” Radio

Exclusive interview with Tampa Rays’ GM andExecutive VP of Baseball Operations, Andrew Friedman this Sunday (2/10)
at 12:00 PM EST.

Tampabayrays1
Entering his third season overseeing Tampa’s baseball operations, Andrew Friedman
has added to and helped speed up the improvement of the great talent
base he inherited from former GM Chuck Lamar after the 2005 season.

Among some of Friedman’s early successes have been the development
of long time prospect B.J. Upton, the revitalization of the career of
2007 Most Improved Player Carlos Pena, the continued progress of ace
left handed pitcher Scott Kazmir, and the low-cost addition of former
Japanese player Akinori Iwamura.

One of Friedman’s first moves was to hire a man who had never been a
full-time manager in the majors to lead his incredibly young team. So
far, so good as the young Rays’ players have responded extremely well
to Joe Maddon.

Two of Friedman’s most important moves to date have been the
drafting of left handed stud pitcher David Price in last year’s draft
and his recent blockbuster deal that sent the multi-talented outfielder
Delmon Young to the Twins for top young right hander Matt Garza.

The Rays’ system is loaded, the lineup should once again be the
youngest in the AL, and the future looks bright for Friedman and his
Tampa Bay Rays.

Join us Sunday (2/10) at 12:00 PM EST as we welcome Andrew Friedman as our guest on BASEBALL TALK w/ Carl the Cabbie & Dugout Joe.
